OLEVANO SUL TUSCIANO, ITALY

In early March, 2004, the Wilmington-Olevano Committee, in cooperation with Sister Cities of Wilmington, Inc., conducted a reception/fund raiser to assist in the support of upcoming exchanges between Olevano and Wilmington.  The event specifically identified the need to support of the arrival of two chefs from Italy, Clemente Gaeta and Gerardo Denza, to participated in the renowned Meals On Wheels Meals fund-raising events - Meals with the Masters and Celebrity Chef Brunch which were held on April 16th and April 18th respectively.

With support from the special fundraiser, two educators, four middle school students and two parents from Olevano Sul Tusciano came to Wilmington on an educational exchange with St. Anthony of Padua’s Elementary School.

“Wilmington Through Italian Eyes’, a collection of photographs of Wilmington, the Italian Community and St. Anthony of Padua’s Italian Festival in Wilmington by Giuseppe D’Inca, photographer from Olevano Sul Tusciano, has been in negotiation fro publication over this year.
